From software engineering to formulating a range of aromatherapy products. How did that happen?
I got married in the Royal family of Nehtaur, Distt Bijnor U.P. who own large Mango plantations and aromatic plantations there. It was in one of those visits to our aromatic plantation farms that inspired me to study about essential oils and eventually Aromatherapy. After completing my studies from London, I started my practice of healing with aromatherapy. The results of my blends on my clients were so effective that they in fact pushed me into launching my own range of personal care products.
What all challenges did you face and what were your strategies to them?
The biggest challenge is the availability of pure essential oils. This industry is very susceptible to adulteration of essential oils. In aromatherapy pure essential oils are important for giving the desired therapeutic benefits of this alternate from of healing. Adulterated essential oils will not give you the same effect and this a major reason people's trust on aromatherapy fades.
Since all essential oils do not grow in one region, so apart from our own aromatic plantations we have tied up with direct producers of other essential oils to source these essential oils in the purest form.
How has your journey been so far, any plans for expansion?
Our journey so far has been good and people have warmly accepted our products. They have found what a truly natural aromatherapy product feels like as it is evident from their feedbacks.
We have got a good offline and online outreach and Wikka should be present in around 15 metro and Tier I cities in an years time.
What inspired you to build the above product/ service?
My visits to the aromatic plantations and the positive result of essential oils in healing a person inspired me to study and build these products based on the true principles of aromatherapy.
What are some common beauty mistakes you have seen people make?
One should keep changing the products according to the season. Avoid scrubbing your skin too often as you will expose the tender skin underneath. Scrubbing once a week is good enough according to your skin type. Moisturize your skin immediately after washing your face or bathing to lock in the moisture. Don't wait to use the moisturizer till the skin dries off.
