Introduction: Tell us about yourself and your background.
I completed my bachelor degree in finance, an international degree in international studies and am also a semiprofessional salsa dancer, and a full time Upcycler.
Tell us about the company you have set up – when did you set it up, what services do you provide?
The company is called The Upcycle Co, which was initially started as a project in 2014, where i was toying around with the idea of upcycling with various materials and numerous ideas in mind before actually coming up with this venture.
What inspired you to give new life to discarded piece of items?
The idea that waste should not be treated like a waste and coming from a home country where waste is generated in abundance on daily basis and the need to treat the waste is right is wherei came up giving life to discarded piece of items
What drove you to become an Entrepreneur?
Whilst I was completing my master’s in the UK, i took a class that involved a lot of case studies on sustainability and unique businesses that stemmed from being environmentally, economically and socially sustainable. So why not monetary gains with environment friendly gains have is the thought that drove me to become an Entrepreneur.
Please share your future goals?
The future goals go without any saying, I wants to increase the impact of The Upcycle Co i.e. not only selling out lot in numbers but also being able to create a larger impact on current environmental conditions.
Who has been your biggest inspiration?
Frankly other than the quirky products I came across in a café In UK made from waste, the growing number of waste in India i.e. mainly PVC and e-waste has been a stronger inspiration to make a change than a person.
Did you face any financial challenges whilst setting up the upcycle project?
As this was a completely bootstrapped business formerly following where I got support from UnLtd. India the challenges were happily accepted and faced.
What are your views and opinions towards the ambiguous need to promote women entrepreneurship and women empowerment in India?
That’s a bit disappointing where the need to promote women entrepreneurship and women empowerment in India is still considered an ambiguous need. I being an entrepreneur myself strongly feel women should be inspired by their dreams enough to come out of their difficult zone and make things happen. Don’t compromise yourself. You are all you’ve got. There is no yesterday, no tomorrow, it’s all the same day.

It was quite a pleasant surprise when we came across IWIL. A simple thought like even a single woman is inspired enough to sculpt her life her way do puts a smile on face and inspires so many at the same time IWIL is striving hard to make a difference to so many of them is commendable.
