When Shikha Sinha moved from Delhi to Bengaluru after her wedding in January 2014, she struggled for a year to find good stitching service providers, she took it upon herself to use technology and start her own e-tailoring services. Fabstitch.in is India’s first e- tailoring website for one stop solution for all kind of stitching works. In an interview with IWIL , Shikha speaks her heart out on her favourite subject i.e. her work of course.

What all challenges did you face and what were your strategies to them? Challenges:

How has your journey been so far, any plans for expansion? I started it with an initial budget of INR 10,000. During the initial days it was really tough to get in touch with the customers asking for stitching services which is online, many issues we faced with includes searching for the best boutiques in the city. In our business, a fabstitch representative is directly interacting with the customer, so the initial issues were to train then ethically and professionally. But now they all are in shape up where almost issues are cleared and we are running this venture with a tie up of several boutiques across Bangalore and also we have started our own stitching studio warehouse. We are in talks to expand it to several cities like Pune, Hyderabad etc.
What inspired you to build the above product/ service? I moved from Delhi to Bangalore after my marriage in 2014, after few months I started looking out for a boutique near to my area (Malleshpalya) where I can get my clothes stitched. I found one, which was very near to my place and placed my first order as Salwar. After several calls/personally visit to the boutique finally the day came when I got my stitched cloth, and it didn’t meet the expectation as expected. This routine was continued for the nearly 8-10 months. Finally I got an idea to start to my own venture where I can give the professional touch to tailoring services. It was Jan 21st 2015 and the day when fabstitch was born.
What piece of advice would you like to give to the aspiring youth who wish to pursue their dream of becoming an entrepreneur Always dream, think big, and don’t wait for the right time to come, because each moment is the right moment, so jump and jump high. Being an entrepreneur you will never fail in fact daily there are plenty of things to learn.
