Dipika Trehan did her Bachelor of Science Home Economics from Lady Irwin College and later went on to pursue Masters in Business Administration in Human Resource and Marketing from Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad. Today, in this session , Dipika tells us about her inspiring journey with yoga.
Brief introduction about yourself and tell us something about The H.O.W. (Health.Of.Women. Forum)? I am a Fitness and wellness enthusiast yoga Instructor. My journey started of being whooping 94kgs post child birth and shedding 30+ Kgs, which made me realize the importance of fitness and wellness. The H.O.W. Forum conducts various corporate and non-corporate health and wellness programs/workshops. Our primary focus is on Yoga. A few of our popular workshops are: yoga at work, yoga for business travelers, yoga for stress management, yoga for relief from 21 lifestyle-related health problems, motivational talks and much more.
What all challenges did you face and what were your strategies to them? Generating awareness about wellness and getting people/organizations to take the first step towards it is probably the most challenging part. The only strategy to overcome this challenge is perseverance, persistence, self-belief and keeping the core foundation strong. Most of us would agree on the importance of Health Fitness and Wellbeing in urban lifestyles. Reaching out and generating awareness enough, such that it leads to prompt action is the simplest way to overcome all challenge.
Does the H.O.W. forum conduct wellness workshops/activities only for women? The online community is women focused. However, yoga and wellness workshops/activities/programs are conducted for a mixed group comprising of both men and women.
Did you face any specific challenges while starting the venture? The first step towards initiating a venture is the toughest of all challenges, but a huge one is also to sustain your idea and believe in it through ups and downs.
What piece of advice would you like to give to the aspiring youth who wish to pursue their dream of becoming an entrepreneur? If you have an idea, that you firmly believe in, then just jump into it and get it started.
According to you, what are the top three essential skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur? Self-Belief, determination & perseverance
Share some details about the investments that you have been able to fetch for the business till now. We define investments a bit differently. The interest, followed by action taken by organizations towards investing in the health and wellbeing of their employees, is rewarding enough for our business, and that’s critical. A recent few to name would be CapGemini, MindTree, Harman etc.
What are your views and opinions towards the ambiguous need to promote women entrepreneurship and women empowerment in India? I firmly believe that Women talent is of huge economic importance. Hence Women empowerment and Women entrepreneurship must be well supported and encouraged.
